USD/CHF, Fri Jan/02/2015, MACD Analysis: 0.00% Increase Confirm An Up-Trend
A moving average convergence/divergence (MACD) technical analysis for USD/CHF is generated for daily close at Fri Jan/02/2015 00:00:00. The analysis computation and presentation method uses MetaTrader version of MACD , and the MACD-Signal difference is shown to enrich the analysis with the price acceleration data (as presented by MACD histogram in other version ). The indicator plot is presented in the Figure 1, showing the candlestick chart on the top, the MACD indicator bar and line in the middle, and the MACD-Signal difference histogram in the bottom.
Indentifying Trend Direction by MACD Sign: An above-zero of MACD value is shown by the indicator, and it is an indication of a bullish-trend. The recent closed bar (Thu, Jan 01), shows 0.00% (0.00 pips) step up in price from 0.99370 to 0.99370, this gives a confirmation that the trend will continue its path. With the last MACD cross is trigered 121 trading days ago on 07/16/2014 and followed by the signal cross detected 118 trading days ago on 07/21/2014, neglecting the price acceleration/decceleration, the bullish-trend is expected to continue its run.
MACD-Signal Difference as Price Acceleration Sign: The MACD histogram analysis is meaningful in case the MACD-Signal crossover is chosen to trigger the buy/sel signal. The acceleration of the price movement has never change its direction for the last 9 trading days since the former crossover on 12/19/2014, and the buy floating position should be held until the next cross. The acceleration direction (represented by the sign of the value) and the current trend represented by the MACD value show that both acceleration and the trend move in the same direction, so a strong up-trend is expected to continue.
